Knowledge of the adult women about osteoporosis and prevention methods |

According to a survey realized on 500 women, aged 40-70, urban, medium and high level studies, proved that their knowledge about osteoporosis and its prevetion methods are insufficient or wrong:23% of the above mentioned women had never heard of osteoporosis80% of them couldn`t explain what the disease is about84% of them didn`t know the osteoporosis risk factors
As about prevention methods,37% didn`t have the basic knowledge11% could enumerate names of pills treating osteoporosis41% diet18% physical exerciseonly 17% of them talked about osteoporosis with their Gpsonly 4% of them were investigated in this respectRegarding information sources,only 10% of them were informed about osteoporosis by their GPs.
